These Terms govern your use of Orbital Docket (the Service), provided by Clifford Balinskas, a sole proprietor trading as Intraorbit (we, us, the Provider). By subscribing to or using the Service you agree to them.
1. What the Service is
Orbital Docket is a subscription research tool covering milestone obligations arising from public satellite authorisations issued by the United States Federal Communications Commission and recorded by the International Telecommunication Union. It reads public filings and published documents, applies versioned rules to them, and presents the resulting dates together with the rule version and the source document each one derives from.
Every date the Service publishes is arithmetic over a rule with a version number, applied to a date read from the public record. No language model is used anywhere in the pipeline. Where an authorising Order states a date that differs from the computed one, both are shown, and the disagreement is presented as a finding rather than resolved silently.
2. What a subscription includes
- Access, through the web application, to the full record: every milestone obligation, every drill-down, the rule version and citation behind each computed date, and the hash of the source document.
- The coverage report — what the Service could not read, and what a person decided about it — for the whole corpus, not only for the parts that worked.
- A daily email summarising what changed, including on days when nothing did.
- Updates to the corpus as the pipeline runs. There is no separate charge for new coverage.
3. What a subscription does not include
These are limitations of the product rather than of your account, and they are stated here and on the home page so that they are known before purchase rather than after:
- No bulk downloads and no exports. There is no data dump, no CSV download and no file to take away.
- No API and no access tokens. Access is through the application's user interface only.
- One login per subscription. Subscriptions are for use by a single named individual and credentials may not be shared.
4. Payment, billing and price
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the merchant of record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service enquiries relating to billing and handles returns. Your purchase is additionally subject to Paddle's own buyer terms, and Paddle collects and remits any applicable sales tax, VAT or GST.
Subscriptions are monthly and renew automatically each month until cancelled. There is no annual plan and no minimum term. The price is the one shown at checkout at the time you subscribe.
The price you join at is the price you keep. We raise prices for new subscribers as the Service's coverage grows. A price rise never applies to an existing subscription: for as long as your subscription stays active and unbroken, you continue to pay the price you originally subscribed at. If your subscription lapses and you later resubscribe, the price then current applies.
5. Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel at any time and your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for. Our refund position is set out in full in the Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- share your credentials, or allow more than one individual to use a single subscription;
- systematically extract, scrape or copy the contents of the Service, whether by automated means or by hand, in order to reproduce or redistribute it;
- resell, sublicense or republish material from the Service as a dataset or a competing product;
- attempt to gain access to parts of the Service you are not subscribed to, or to interfere with its operation.
We may suspend or terminate a subscription that breaches this section. Where the breach is inadvertent we will normally contact you first.
7. Accuracy, and the limits of what the record can show
The Service is regulatory intelligence. It is not legal advice, and it is not a substitute for reading the underlying documents or for taking professional advice. Nothing in the Service creates a professional relationship between you and the Provider.
The Service is derived from public sources that are themselves incomplete, and it says so on its own pages. In particular: an absence in our corpus is a fact about our corpus and not about the world; a computed deadline is what the cited rule produces from the cited document, and may be superseded by a document we have not read; and where a source document could not be read, the Service reports that rather than omitting the filing. You should verify any date you intend to rely on against the primary source, which the Service identifies for you.
8. Availability
We aim to keep the Service available continuously and to refresh the corpus every day, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The Service may be unavailable during maintenance, or because of failures at our hosting or upstream data providers.
9. Intellectual property
The underlying filings and documents are public records and we claim no rights in them. The rules, the derived database, the interface and the presentation of the Service are ours. Your subscription grants you a personal, non-transferable right to use the Service while it is active; it does not transfer ownership of anything.
10. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Provider's total liability arising out of or in connection with the Service is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of profit, or for any decision taken in reliance on the Service without verification against the primary source.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing here affects any statutory rights you have as a consumer.
11. Data protection
How we handle personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Where a change materially affects your rights we will give notice by email to the address on your subscription at least thirty days before it takes effect, and you may cancel before it does. The date at the top of this page is the date of the current version.
13. Contact
Questions about these Terms, or about the Service: [email protected]. Billing questions are handled by Paddle, and Paddle's contact details appear on your receipt.
